Today is the day!

An early spring has inspired me.  Well, I have wanted to start a blog for quite some time but seeing the green and growth in our yard, planning the garden, and prepping for all of the projects this spring and summer has driven me to share.  I love reading about what others have done to create a home; now I can share my journey too!

I have such a desire to be self-sufficient.  Not in the sense that I am completely independent and have no connections to anyone or anything.  Instead, I want to do as much as I can....grow, cook, create.  Do more with less.  If I can make it myself, why buy it?

When we first were married, schedules, space, and experience limited what I did at home.  Though I have always enjoyed being in the kitchen and creating all around the house, I did what was easy and convenient.  There is a place for convenience but I have felt the tug to move past that.  We have been in our own house for a year and a half.  I love it!  Our plot is only slightly over an acre but we are making the most of all the space we have outside.  I want to keep alive traditions and skills in the garden, kitchen, and home.  I wouldn't call myself a housewife or a farmer but more and more I want to stay home and care for our family.

Proverbs 31:30-31 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.  Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Can I live up to this legacy?  Can I be a Proverbs 31 Woman?  I pray that I can become the woman that brings glory to God and joy to her husband.  Little by little, I want to share the changes we make at our home and my journey to reach my calling.

So, here we go!!
